This role primarily involves conducting comprehensive medical evaluations for new residents within seven days of admission and at key program milestones, ensuring their medical appropriateness for the assigned level of care. You will manage non-controlled medications, including prescribing, adjusting, and refilling, while ensuring all actions are supported by documented medical appointments. A crucial aspect is reviewing urine drug screen results for consistency and potential concerns, collaborating with various care teams to coordinate referrals, and assisting residents in maintaining primary care relationships.
The Medical Provider is responsible for maintaining meticulous documentation within the electronic health record, covering initial assessments, follow-up notes, and medication reconciliation, all in compliance with regulatory standards. A core clinical duty is to identify residents requiring a higher level of medical care due to instability, complex needs, or inability to perform daily activities, facilitating appropriate referrals. This position does not replace a resident's primary care provider, nor does it typically involve prescribing controlled substances or providing ongoing primary care services.
