Mitchell Glass Company is seeking a highly experienced Senior Glazing Estimator to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for estimating costs, preparing bids, and coordinating with clients, vendors, and subcontractors for small to large-scale commercial glazing projects.
Our hiring philosophy is to hire smart, capable, and driven people and provide the budget, personnel, and systems to enable them to thrive. We are a flat organization that encourages autonomy and not micro-management. This is a Hybrid WFH/In person role, reporting directly to the lead estimator. 4 days a week remote, 1 day per week at our office in Clarksville, TN 37043. Once a track record of online collaboration is established, fully remote is an option.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop and maintain relationships with potential and existing clients to secure new accounts.
- Conduct job walks, attend pre-bid meetings, and evaluate project requirements.
- Review specifications, architectural drawings, and contract documents to define the scope of work.
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs and prepare comprehensive project estimates.
- Solicit pricing from vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors while negotiating favorable terms.
- Prepare and submit professional proposals tailored to project requirements.
- Coordinate subcontractor quotations and issue purchase orders as needed.
- Create and manage detailed cost databases, including labor and material unit pricing.
- Monitor awarded contracts, estimate extra work items or change orders, and track project costs to ensure profitability.
- Prepare post-project analysis, comparing estimated vs. actual costs.
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the architectural glazing industry.
- Expertise in curtain wall bidding is required.
- Experience in Architectural Metal bidding a plus.
- Proficient in WinBid Pro and/or Glazier Studio, Bluebeam, and other construction estimating software.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, architectural fabrication, and structural drawings.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal abilities.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience in estimating and coordinating both small and large-scale construction projects.
