Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Heavy-Duty Diesel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of four years of mechanical experience, a CDL (recommended), and a motorized vehicle mechanics certificate. This role requires diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing heavy equipment and trucks efficiently while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose specific issues and determine the most time and cost-effective method to fix or repair the problem.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and consult with other mechanics as needed.
- Operate equipment post-repair to ensure satisfactory completion.
- Meet with parts vendors to discuss specific issues and specifications.
- Maintain current knowledge and skills needed to diagnose and repair heavy equipment and trucks.
- Keep the work area orderly, including wiping up spills, storing tools and parts, and discarding old materials.
- Follow company policies and guidelines for safety, quality, and customer service.
- Assist with inventory management and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Complete required paperwork accurately and timely.
- Maintain hand and power tools in good repair.
Requirements and Expectations:
- Minimum of 4 years of mechanical experience recommended
- CDL recommended
- Must pass Department of Transportation (DOT) physical requirements
- Pass pre-employment background check, drug screen, and physical
- Must have own toolbox with tools
- Up-to-date motorized vehicle mechanics certificate
- Authorized to work in the US
- Satisfactory driving and criminal record required
- Ability to bend, stoop, crawl, walk, and sit regularly with frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds
- Valid driver's license
- Computer knowledge
- Proficient in English (reading, speaking, writing, and understanding)
Compensation and Benefits:
- Hourly wage: $29 -$40, depending on experience
- 8-hour shifts with overtime available
