Rigby Yard & The Independent Ice Co. | Portland, ME
Rigby Yard and The Independent Ice Co. are seeking a dependable, experienced, and motivated Line Member to join our culinary team. This is a part time or full-time position plays a key role in our operations and evening service, working closely with our Kitchen Team to ensure smooth kitchen execution and exceptional guest experiences in our prep / bridge shifts
Schedule
- Typically 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
- Five days per week
Duties
Key Responsibilities
- Join the line team with station production operations
- Prepare and execute menu items with consistency and attention to detail
- Serve as the Expo during dinner service, coordinating orders between the kitchen and front-of-house team
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, cleanliness, and organization
- Follow food safety and sanitation procedures at all times
- Assist with prep work, station setup, stocking, and kitchen maintenance
- Support efficient service during high-volume periods
- Contribute positively to a team-focused kitchen culture
Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of line cook, café, or similar kitchen experience
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations and food safety practices
- Ability to multitask and stay organized during busy service periods
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Dependable, punctual, and professional
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift kitchen supplies as needed
- ServSafe Certification a plus
Additional Requirements
- Reliable transportation and ability to commute to Portland, Maine
- Availability to interview promptly (flexible scheduling available)
