Duties
- Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Help with mobility and transportation needs, ensuring clients can move safely within their environment.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients to enhance their overall well-being.
- Monitor and report changes in clients' health status to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding as necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients.
- Assist with medication reminders
- Document care provided and maintain accurate records as required by healthcare protocols.
- Monitor and report vital signs as needed
Skills
- Experience or knowledge in medical-surgical settings is preferred but not required.
- Many PCA duties require standing, walking, bending, and lifting, so physical stamina is crucial to provide effective support.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to follow care plans and instructions from healthcare professionals accurately.
