THE OPPORTUNITY
Athletic Republic Shelby is seeking a motivated sports performance professional to help deliver an exceptional athlete training experience in Metro Detroit. The Sports Performance Supervisor will help lead a team of performance coaches while supporting the continued growth of the business.
This role will be based primarily at our Shelby Township location but may occasionally support the Commerce Township location or off-site programming.

THE ROLE
The Sports Performance Supervisor is a full-time leadership position responsible for helping lead the day-to-day training experience and sports performance operations at Athletic Republic Shelby.
This individual will serve as a leader on the training floor, helping ensure that every athlete receives a consistent, high-quality experience while supporting the development, accountability, and performance of the Sports Performance Team. The Supervisor will also play an active role in daily center operations, athlete and customer management, facility standards, and ongoing business development efforts.
In addition to training and operational responsibilities, the Sports Performance Supervisor will take a leadership role in our customer retention and CRM efforts. This includes maintaining consistent communication with athletes and families, leading ongoing customer check-ins, identifying opportunities to improve the customer experience, and helping ensure athletes remain engaged with Athletic Republic throughout their development.
The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in coaching and wants to continue growing as both a sports performance professional and a leader while taking greater ownership of the success of the Shelby training center.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Sports Performance & Athlete Development
- Deliver Athletic Republic sports performance training to athletes across a variety of ages, sports, and ability levels.
- Provide an engaging, professional, and high-energy training environment.
- Maintain a high standard of coaching, instruction, athlete engagement, and customer service.
- Utilize Athletic Republic training systems, technology, testing, and athlete assessment tools appropriately.
- Help athletes and families understand their training goals, progress, and recommended next steps.
- Support Return to Play programming and initiatives.
- Continue professional development within Athletic Republic systems, certifications, and sports performance best practices.
Training Floor Leadership
- Serve as a leader on the training floor and help establish the standard for how sessions should be organized, coached, and delivered.
- Help ensure sessions begin on time and athletes are properly greeted, organized, and prepared for training.
- Support consistency in coaching standards and program execution across the Sports Performance Team.
- Provide guidance, feedback, and support to part-time Sports Performance Trainers and seasonal interns.
- Assist with trainer development, onboarding, education, and implementation of Athletic Republic systems.
- Help identify opportunities to improve the athlete experience and overall efficiency of the training floor.
Customer Retention & CRM Leadership
- Lead ongoing customer retention and athlete/family check-in efforts for the Shelby location.
- Maintain consistent communication with the athletes and families served by the Sports Performance Team.
- Utilize the company CRM and athlete management systems to document communication, track customer engagement, and identify athletes requiring follow-up.
- Proactively check in with customers throughout their training experience rather than waiting for concerns or cancellations to arise.
- Identify athletes approaching the end of their current training package and help facilitate conversations regarding their progress and recommended next phase of training.
- Work with the General Manager and administrative team to improve retention, renewals, referrals, and the overall customer experience.
- Help identify dissatisfied, disengaged, or at-risk customers early and work with leadership to address concerns.
- Encourage customer feedback and communicate recurring themes, concerns, or opportunities to leadership.
- Develop strong relationships with athletes and families that extend beyond individual training sessions and contribute to long-term customer loyalty.
Center Operations
- Assist with daily operational responsibilities at the Shelby training center.
- Support athlete management systems, scheduling processes, attendance tracking, and other administrative functions related to Sports Performance.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness throughout the training floor and facility.
- Assist with the upkeep, organization, and basic maintenance of training equipment.
- Help ensure operational procedures and company standards are consistently followed.
- Communicate facility, equipment, staffing, scheduling, or customer issues to the General Manager as appropriate.
- Assist with opening and/or closing responsibilities as needed.
Business Development & Community Engagement
- Support business development efforts related to customer retention, referrals, and new customer acquisition.
- Build strong relationships with athletes, parents, coaches, teams, and community partners.
- Help generate referrals by providing an exceptional experience and identifying opportunities to introduce Athletic Republic to additional athletes and families.
- Assist with team training, camps, combines, testing events, open houses, community events, and other business development initiatives as needed.
- Represent Athletic Republic professionally within the local sports community.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Performance, Strength & Conditioning, or a related field preferred
- Previous experience coaching athletes in a sports performance, strength and conditioning, personal training, or similar environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with athletes, parents, and coworkers
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable learning and utilizing technology, athlete management systems, and CRM platforms
- Willingness to take initiative and grow into a leadership role
- Athletic Republic experience and/or relevant certifications preferred
