Property Management Bookkeeper
A.D. Real Estate Investors, Inc. is seeking an experienced Property Management Bookkeeper to join our growing property management team. This position is responsible for accounts payable, bank reconciliations, bookkeeping, and general accounting functions for a portfolio of residential and commercial properties. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting knowledge, experience with AppFolio, and the ability to work in a fast-paced property management environment.
Responsibilities
- Process and enter vendor invoices in AppFolio.
- Review invoices for accuracy, coding, approvals, and supporting documentation.
- Prepare and process weekly check runs and ACH payments.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations for multiple operating and escrow accounts.
- Record journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances.
- Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable activity.
- Assist with tenant ledger reviews and payment applications.
- Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Communicate with vendors regarding payment status and account inquiries.
- Track utility bills, service contracts, and recurring expenses.
- Work closely with property managers and maintenance staff regarding invoice approvals.
- Assist with preparation of financial reports, budgets, and audit requests.
- Assist with special accounting and administrative projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping and accounts payable experience in Property Management setting.
- Required: Prior AppFolio experience.
- Experience in residential property management required
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping, general ledger accounting, and accounts payable processes.
- Experience performing bank reconciliations and preparing journal entries.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to manage multiple bank accounts and property financial records.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with multiple entities and property portfolios.
- Knowledge of CAM reconciliations, utility billing, and property management accounting.
- Experience assisting with annual audits and tax preparation support
Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
