Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Elementary Music Teacher who believes music is a powerful tool for inspiring curiosity, confidence, and meaningful learning. The ideal candidate creates joyful, engaging experiences that encourage students to explore, create, collaborate, and develop a lifelong appreciation for music. This teacher will cultivate an inclusive classroom where every child feels seen, supported, and empowered to take creative risks while working closely with colleagues and families to foster each student's growth.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging, hands-on music experiences that inspire creativity, curiosity, and active participation.
- Foster a classroom environment where students feel encouraged to explore, experiment, collaborate, and build confidence through music.
- Teach foundational musical concepts through singing, movement, rhythm, instruments, listening activities, and creative expression.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the unique learning needs of all students, providing appropriate accommodations and support when needed.
- Integrate music with other areas of learning whenever appropriate, helping students make meaningful connections across subjects.
- Utilize technology and digital resources to enhance instruction, organize learning materials, and communicate with families.
- Assess student growth through authentic observations, performances, projects, and ongoing formative assessment to guide instruction.
- Establish positive classroom routines that promote independence, respect, and a strong sense of community.
- Collaborate with faculty to support school-wide initiatives, interdisciplinary projects, performances, celebrations, and community events.
- Maintain open, consistent communication with families regarding student growth, classroom activities, and upcoming performances.
- Maintain accurate records related to attendance, lesson planning, and student progress.
- Create an inclusive classroom culture that celebrates diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and musical traditions.
Qualifications
- Experience teaching elementary-aged students with a strong understanding of child development.
- Ability to create engaging, student-centered learning experiences that encourage exploration, creativity, and collaboration.
- Experience adapting instruction to support diverse learning styles and individual student needs.
- Strong classroom management skills that emphasize relationship-building, encouragement, and student ownership.
- Comfort using educational technology to support instruction, organization, and communication.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and colleagues.
- Experience in either public or private school settings is welcomed; a passion for nurturing children's creativity, confidence, and love of learning through music is essential.
Pay: $45,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
