Position Summary
The Structural Steel Welder is responsible for fitting, welding, and assembling structural steel components using flux-core welding processes in accordance with drawings, specifications, and safety standards. This position is essential in producing high-quality steel assemblies for EZARC's fabrication operations.
Key Responsibilities

Perform flux-core (FCAW) welding on structural steel per project drawings and weld symbols.

Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings accurately.

Fit, align, and secure parts using clamps, jigs, fixtures, and measuring tools.

Inspect completed welds for quality and conformance to specifications.

Safely operate overhead cranes, jib cranes, and forklifts to handle materials and assemblies.

Maintain welding equipment, tools, and workspace in clean, safe condition.

Follow all company safety policies and participate in required pre-task planning and safety meetings.

Work collaboratively with supervisors, fitters, and other team members to ensure quality and production goals are met.

Report any material defects, drawing discrepancies, or unsafe conditions to supervision immediately.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of 2 years' experience in flux-core welding of structural steel preferred.

Ability to certify a 3G test using 3/8 Plate and 1/16 wire.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.

Certification to AWS D1.1 standards preferred.

Knowledge of safe rigging and material handling.

Strong attention to detail, quality, and safety.
Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. for extended periods.

Comfortable working in a fabrication shop environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.

Shift Schedule: 4:30 PM to 2:30 AM; Paid Lunch; $1.50 Shift Differential
