Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregiver/Personal Support Specialist (PSS) to provide exceptional care and support to individuals in various settings, including home, community, assisted living, and long-term care facilities. In this vital role, you will assist with daily activities, monitor health and safety, and foster a warm, respectful environment that promotes independence and well-being. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote comfort and independence.
- Monitor patients’ health by observing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately while adhering to HIPAA privacy standards.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal planning and cooking to support overall health.
- Support residents with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or assisting with heavy lifting to ensure safety during transfers.
- Provide companionship and emotional support while engaging clients in social activities or recreational programs suited to their interests.
- Maintain a clean environment by performing light housekeeping duties including cleaning patient areas, laundry, and general sanitation tasks in compliance with health standards.
Experience
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication reminders.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, autism spectrum disorder or other memory-related conditions is advantageous.
- Familiarity with care protocols for hospice or palliative care settings is a plus.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or nursing assistant credentials are beneficial.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and working on your feet for extended periods is essential.
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate attitude are key to building trust and rapport with clients of diverse backgrounds. - Must have a valid Driver's license, have a car and be comfortable with driving Clients to and from Grocery shops and their appointments.
