Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Diesel and Ag mechanic to manage repairs and maintenance at our on-site dairy farm shop in Ault, CO. This role requires someone who can work independently and as part of a team. Also, someone who can confidently service/repair heavy trucks and agricultural machinery while tracking shop orders digitally.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a strong plus but not required
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy construction equipment such as excavators, cranes, bulldozers, and loaders as well as Semi-trucks, using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) schematics and electrical diagnostics tools.
- Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, tire service, brake repair, suspension adjustments, and hydraulic system servicing to prevent downtime.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues involving transmissions, diesel engines, air brakes, HVAC systems, electrical systems, and hydraulics to identify root causes efficiently.
- Utilize power tools and specialized equipment to assemble, disassemble, and repair heavy machinery with precision.
- Maintain detailed digital service records, repair logs, and inspection reports to ensure compliance with safety standards and OEM specifications.
- Assist in equipment troubleshooting during operational failures or breakdowns while adhering to safety protocols for heavy lifting and equipment handling.
- Hands-on experience with excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and construction machinery.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of transmissions, diesel engine diagnostics & repair (including diesel mechanics), air brake systems, suspension components, HVAC systems, and hydraulics.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently during maintenance or troubleshooting procedures.
- Familiarity with OEM parts sourcing and service manuals to ensure accurate repairs aligned with manufacturer standards.
- Keep shop organized and manage parts inventory independently.
- Follow safety procedures and wear proper PPE when necessary.
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members regarding maintenance needs or repair statuses.
