Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that incorporate literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori principles to foster holistic childhood development.
- Create a nurturing classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and social interaction among preschoolers.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement techniques and behavior management strategies.
- Conduct assessments aligned with standardized testing standards to monitor each child's progress in literacy, numeracy, and overall development.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate children’s progress, address concerns, and support early intervention when needed.
- Incorporate special education strategies to support children with diverse learning needs and promote inclusive classroom practices.
- Maintain detailed records of lesson plans, child welfare documentation, and classroom activities to ensure compliance with childcare regulations and educational standards.
Experience
- Prior classroom experience working with preschool-aged children in a daycare or private school setting is essential.
- Demonstrated knowledge of early childhood education theories, childhood development milestones, and classroom management techniques.
- Experience developing curricula that integrate literacy education, math skills, physical activities, and sensory learning approaches such as Montessori methods.
- Familiarity with working with children requiring special education or early intervention services is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
- Previous experience in toddler care or daycare environments will be considered an asset.
- Certification or training in early childhood education or related fields is preferred; ongoing professional development in childhood development topics is encouraged.
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
