Position Overview
The Frozen Supervisor oversees all aspects of the Frozen Department to ensure strong in-stock conditions, high product quality, and effective merchandising. This role supports daily operations, drives sales, maintains food safety standards, and leads department associates to deliver excellent execution and customer service.
Key Responsibilities Department Operations
- Maintain full, faced, and organized frozen cases at all times
- Manage ordering, receiving, and inventory to support sales and minimize out-of-stocks
- Ensure accurate product rotation (FIFO) and code date checks
- Monitor and reduce shrink through proper handling and control practices
Merchandising & Sales
- Execute ad plans, features, and seasonal sets according to company standards
- Maintain clean, organized, and visually appealing frozen displays
- Ensure accurate pricing, tags, and signage
- Adjust orders and displays based on sales trends and demand
Food Safety & Compliance
- Maintain proper freezer temperatures and ensure logs are completed accurately
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and company compliance standards
- Ensure proper storage and handling of frozen products
- Remain audit-ready at all times
Customer Service
- Provide friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient service
- Assist customers with product selection and questions
- Resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally
Leadership & Team Development
- Supervise, train, and coach frozen associates
- Delegate daily tasks and ensure completion of workload
- Support hiring, onboarding, and performance development
- Promote a positive, productive team environment
Qualifications
- Previous grocery or frozen department experience preferred
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, cold environment
- Leadership and communication skills
- Understanding of inventory and merchandising practices
Working Conditions
- Frequent exposure to freezer temperatures
- Standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs
- Flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
