Overview
We are seeking a skilled and energetic Pipe Welder/Fitter to join our dynamic construction and manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing piping systems in accordance with blueprints, schematics, and industry standards. Your expertise will ensure the safe and efficient completion of projects across various sites, including industrial, commercial, and infrastructure environments. Duties
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide pipe fabrication and installation processes.
- Perform MIG welding, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), TIG welding, and soldering to join pipes made of various materials following ASME codes & standards.
- Fit and assemble pipe sections using hand tools, power tools, pipe threading machines, calipers, and tube bending equipment to meet project specifications.
- Conduct pipe fitting activities such as cutting, grinding, bending, soldering, and rigging to ensure proper alignment and secure connections.
- Install fire sprinkler systems, HVAC piping, plumbing lines, pipeline components, and other mechanical systems on construction sites or manufacturing facilities.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work progress through schematics review, measurements with calipers, basic math calculations, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Support maintenance tasks by troubleshooting piping issues, performing repairs, and ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience in pipe welding (MIG, FCAW, TIG) within construction or manufacturing environments.
- Ability to read complex blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams accurately.
- Mechanical knowledge of pipe threading, tube bending, rigging techniques, and system assembly.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as calipers, power tools, soldering irons, and pipe threading machines.
- Familiarity with ASME codes & standards for piping systems; experience working with pipeline projects is a plus.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, plumbing installation practices, fire sprinkler fitting or related fields preferred.
- Ability to work safely on construction sites or manufacturing floors while adhering to safety protocols.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations; experience with schematics is essential.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods; capable of lifting heavy materials safely; comfortable working at heights or in confined spaces as needed. THIS POSITION IS FOR OUT OF TOWN WORK IN BOSTON. Paid hourly, per diem plus hotel and travel expense company paid.
Pay: $22.00 - $35.00 per hour
