Government Protection Officer GPO
We are seeking a vigilant and dedicated Armed Security Officer to uphold safety and security across our premises. This role involves actively monitoring the environment, managing access points, and responding swiftly to incidents to ensure a secure environment for staff, visitors, and assets. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of responsibility, excellent conflict management skills, and the ability to operate surveillance equipment effectively. Duties
- Patrol designated areas regularly to deter unauthorized access and ensure safety protocols are followed
- Control access points by verifying identification and authorizations for employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors
- Monitor surveillance systems such as CCTV cameras to observe activity and identify potential security threats
- Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, or emergencies with appropriate action and communication with law enforcement or emergency services when necessary
- Conduct thorough inspections using conflict management techniques to de-escalate situations and prevent theft or vandalism
- Prepare detailed incident reports documenting security breaches or unusual activities for record-keeping and follow-up
- Assist in loss prevention efforts by identifying suspicious behavior and preventing theft or damage
Skills
- Proven experience in security, law enforcement, military service, or related fields with a focus on conflict management and crisis response
- Knowledge of surveillance technology including CCTV systems and monitoring procedures
- First aid certification and CPR training to provide immediate assistance during emergencies
- Strong understanding of security protocols, loss prevention strategies, and emergency response procedures
- Ability to remain calm under pressure while making quick decisions in high-stress situations
- Excellent communication skills for clear reporting and effective interaction with team members and the public
- Familiarity with law enforcement practices and legal considerations relevant to security operations
