American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care/Telemetry Unit position requiring NIH Stroke Certification and at least 1 year of recent specialty experience.

18-bed Progressive Care/Telemetry (Pulm Step Down) unit caring for patients with moderate physiologic instability, including COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CHF, and trach patients

Patient ratio of 1:4-5 with hemodynamic monitoring, cardiac and respiratory management every 2-4 hours
-
Support staff includes 2 PCTs and 1 unit secretary per shift

Utilizes Alaris pumps, Kangaroo pump, Pyxis, and in-room computers

Documentation via Meditech

12-hour day shifts (7A-7P) with self-scheduling, including 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule

No on-call requirements

Floating required, with priority given first to travelers, then PRN staff, then by date last floated

Active KS RN license or compact license required
-
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

US SSN and DOB required for consideration

No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Deliver cardiac and respiratory monitoring and interventions at least every 3-4 hours, including vital signs and blood glucose checks every 4 hours and continuous cardiac monitoring

Unit focuses on teamwork, courtesy, and respect in patient care

Required dress code is royal blue scrubs

Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
