Overview
Second Home Adult Day Center provides a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for older adults and adults with disabilities. Our Program Aides/Drivers play a key role in ensuring each participant is treated with dignity, enjoys meaningful activities, and arrives safely to and from our center
The Program Aide/Driver supports the daily operation of the adult day center by assisting participants with activities, social engagement, meals, and personal care, while also transporting participants safely using company vehicles. This role is ideal for someone compassionate, reliable, patient, and comfortable working with seniors and adults with special needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Participant Support & Activities
- Assist with group and individual activities, recreation, crafts, games, and social engagement.
- Provide supervision to ensure safety and well‑being throughout the day.
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and walking when/as needed.
- Support participants during meals and snacks, including assistance with feeding if required.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
Transportation
- Safely operate company‑owned vehicles to transport participants to and from the center.
- Assist participants on and off the vehicle using proper safety techniques.
- Ensure seatbelts, wheelchair tie‑downs, and safety equipment are properly secured.
- Follow all driving routes and schedules accurately and consistently.
- Complete daily vehicle safety checks and report maintenance issues.
Care & Safety
- Observe and report changes in participant behavior, health, or mobility.
- Follow all emergency procedures, safety protocols, and documentation requirements.
Teamwork & Communication
- Work closely with program staff and leadership to support participant needs.
- Maintain positive communication with clients, families, and caregivers.
- Participate in staff meetings and ongoing training.
Qualifications
- Valid Colorado driver’s license with a clean driving record. MORE THAN 2 POINTS ON LICENSE ARE NOT ENCOURAGED TO APPLY.
- Must be 21 and over to apply.
- Experience working with older adults or individuals with disabilities preferred.
- Ability to safely drive a van or small bus (training provided).
- Ability to lift, support, and assist participants as needed (up to 50 lbs).
- Strong communication skills and a patient, compassionate attitude.
- Ability to pass background checks required by state regulations.
Preferred Skills (Not Required)
- CPR/First Aid certification
- caregiver experience
- Experience in adult day services, home care, or assisted living
- Familiarity with dementia care techniques
