Job Overview
Atlantic Star Trucking is seeking an experienced CDL Class A Truck Driver for local container work based out of Union, New Jersey. This is a home-daily position ideal for a dependable driver with prior port experience, a valid TWIC card, and a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and professional service.
Duties
- Handle local container moves to and from NJ/NY container terminals, yards, and customer locations.
- Report to work reliably and on time each day, complete assigned work as scheduled, and communicate delays promptly.
- Communicate professionally with dispatch, shippers, and customers.
- Maintain accurate HOS logs, paperwork, delivery documentation, and trip records.
- Use required company dispatch and safety apps (including Samsara) on personal cell phone.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with DOT requirements.
- Follow all company safety procedures, traffic laws, and port requirements.
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A license.
- Minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience.
- Previous port experience.
- Valid TWIC.
- HazMat endorsement preferred for higher hourly rate.
- Safe driving record.
- Ability to work locally and return home daily.
- Strong reliability, punctuality, and communication skills.
