Lighten Academy is seeking an experienced and dedicated High School Math Teacher/Tutor to join our growing academic team.
Responsibilities
- Teach Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2
- Provide clear, structured instruction and help students build strong mathematical foundations
- Develop students’ problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Prepare students for school exams, Regents, and other standardized assessments
- SAT Math and/or ACT Math teaching experience is a strong plus
- Adapt instruction to students with different academic levels and learning needs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field preferred
- NY State Teaching License preferred, but not required
- Strong teaching or tutoring experience in high school mathematics will be considered
- Experience teaching Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2
- SAT/ACT Math teaching experience is highly preferred
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Passion for teaching and helping students achieve academic growth
Compensation
$35–$75/hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Part-time and flexible scheduling available.
Opportunities for additional classes and long-term teaching assignments are available for strong candidates.
Pay: $35.00 - $65.00 per hour
Expected hours: 4.0 – 14.0 per week
