Experience & Requirements
- Professional Background: 3–5 years of experience as an electrical technician in Marine, Aviation, or High-End RV industries. Experience specifically with Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis is a massive advantage.
- Deep System Knowledge: * Expertise in Lithium Battery Management Systems (BMS) and the specific charge profiles required for high-end cells.
- Strong understanding of Ohm’s Law and wire gauge sizing to prevent voltage drop over long vehicle runs.
- Tool & Software Proficiency: * Mastery of professional crimping tools (hydraulic and ratcheting), heat-shrink techniques, and wire labeling systems.
- Ability to use configuration software (e.g., VictronConnect, VE.Configure) to program system parameters.
- Schematic Literacy: Ability to not only read complex electrical schematics but also contribute to "as-built" documentation for the client's manual.
- DC/AC Integration: Design and execute both low-voltage DC (12V/24V/48V) and high-voltage AC (120V) circuits, ensuring proper grounding, bonding, and overcurrent protection.
- High-Output Charging: Install and calibrate secondary high-output alternators and DC-to-DC charging systems to ensure rapid battery recovery while the vehicle is in motion.
- Smart System Integration: Configure and program digital switching systems (e.g., CZone, Garmin Spectra, or Victron Cerbo GX) for centralized touchscreen control of lights, climate, and tank levels.
- Custom Harness Fabrication: Build, label, and route professional-grade wiring harnesses using marine-grade tinned copper wire, ensuring all runs are secured and protected from vibration and heat.
- Luxury Component Installation: Integrate high-end amenities including Starlink internet, premium multi-zone audio systems, 12V air conditioning units (like Nomadic or Dometic), and dimmable LED accent lighting.
- Diagnostics & Commissioning: Use multimeters and software diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex parasitic draws, CAN bus communication errors, and firmware updates for power components.
Standards
- Wire Management Aesthetics: We require "NASA-level" cable management. All wiring must be bundled, loomed, and labeled with zero "rat’s nests" or loose runs.
- System Redundancy: A focus on building failure-proof systems with appropriate bypasses and clear labeling for high-value clients who may be off-grid for weeks.
- Cleanliness & Protection: Must be disciplined in protecting the vehicle's interior (using floor runners and seat covers) and maintaining a metal-shavings-free environment to prevent future electrical shorts.
Pay: $70.00 - $85.00 per hour
