Front Desk Coordinator and Intern/Volunteer Coordinator
Elizabeth Buffum Chace Center is seeking a dynamic and organized Front Desk and Intern/Volunteer Coordinator to serve as the welcoming face of our organization. This position plays a vital role in managing front desk operations, supporting volunteer/ intern engagement, and ensuring smooth administrative workflows. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to the position. You will be instrumental in creating a positive environment for visitors, volunteers, and staff while maintaining efficient office procedures.
Position Overview
The Volunteer and Front Desk Coordinator oversees intern and volunteer coordination, manages front desk and hotline operations, and supports agency data and reporting needs. This role serves as a central point of contact for staff, volunteers, interns, and community partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point person for the recruitment, onboarding, training, and coordination of interns and volunteers.
- Greet visitors, clients, and volunteers with professionalism and warmth, always providing exceptional customer service
- Conduct interviews and screenings for interns and volunteers.
- Develop and coordinate training schedules, collaborating with EBCC staff as needed, tracking hours, and assisting with volunteer/intern communication
- Maintain partnerships with local colleges and coordinate intern placements with EBCC and the court program
- Schedule, support, and evaluate EBCC-based interns; coordinate court-based placements with court staff and all other direct service program managers
- Train and schedule EBCC-based interns/volunteers and collaborate with court staff on court-based interns
- Respond to hotline calls and provide information and referrals to callers
- Maintain a welcoming, professional front desk environment
- Enter data and generate monthly reports using the Empower database
- Maintain working knowledge of agency data systems and reporting requirements
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle inquiries professionally over the phone and in person
- Proficiency in computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong typing skills with attention to detail for proofreading and document accuracy
- Knowledge of multi-line phone systems and office equipment operation is essential
- Demonstrated ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

- 35 hours per week/ Days / In person

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
