Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Property Manager to oversee a large residential rental community. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing daily operations, ensuring tenant satisfaction, and maintaining property standards. This role requires a strong understanding of property management regulations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently. The Property Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for tenants, vendors, and ownership, ensuring smooth property operations in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee leasing processes including property leasing, tenant screening, and lease negotiations using tools such as Yardi and OneSite
- Oversee property maintenance and facilities management to ensure properties are well-maintained and compliant with safety standards
- Handle tenant relations, addressing concerns promptly and professionally to ensure high levels of customer service
- Administer legal administrative tasks related to landlord-tenant law, Fair Housing regulations, and Section 8 programs
- Conduct regular inspections of properties to identify repair needs and coordinate maintenance or repairs with vendors
- Maintain accurate records of contracts, rent payments, legal documents, and correspondence through data entry, filing, and office experience
- Enforce lease agreements and resolve conflicts effectively using conflict management skills
- Upsell additional services or amenities to tenants to improve occupancy rates and revenue
- Ensure compliance with LIHTC regulations and other relevant housing programs
- Prepare reports on property performance, occupancy rates, and maintenance issues for ownership review
Skills
- Strong knowledge of AppFolio property management software
- Familiarity with LIHTC, Section 8, Fair Housing regulations, landlord-tenant law, and legal administrative procedures
- Excellent customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and relationship management abilities
- Proven experience in property leasing, sales, negotiation, contracts management, and facilities management
- Ability to handle conflict resolution effectively while maintaining positive relationships with tenants and vendors
- Administrative expertise including data entry, filing, office organization, and legal documentation handling
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal for effective negotiation and customer interactions
- Experience in property maintenance coordination and facilities oversight
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment
