Growth HR Solutions is conducting this search on behalf of a confidential, established food-manufacturing client. This is a direct-hire opportunity. The selected candidate will be employed by the client, not Growth HR Solutions. Growth HR Solutions will coordinate the initial recruiting and screening process, and qualified candidates will receive the client's identity before a client interview.
This field-based role supports a major grocery account across Southern California. It combines high-volume cake decorating, bakery production, employee training, merchandising, customer support, and consultative sales. It is a strong fit for a grocery bakery manager, assistant manager, lead decorator, production decorator, bakery trainer, or supplier-side bakery technician who enjoys teaching people and taking ownership of a territory.
This is not a custom-cake-only role. Success requires commercial production speed, repeatability, consistency, clean execution, and the ability to explain techniques clearly to bakery teams.
What you will do
- Demonstrate high-volume cake decorating and bakery production techniques in grocery-store bakeries
- Train decorators, clerks, managers, and bakery teams step by step
- Support the correct use of icings, fillings, glazes, mixes, and related bakery products
- Help stores improve production consistency, merchandising, product presentation, costing awareness, and product adoption
- Build trusted, professional relationships with bakery teams and account leadership
- Work alongside store bakery employees in accordance with account operating requirements
- Plan store visits, travel, reporting, and follow-up work independently
- Adjust calmly when grand openings, remodels, customer needs, weather, or schedules change
Travel and schedule
This position requires significant regional driving and approximately three weeks per month of travel. Frequent overnight travel and multiple hotels in one week are possible. Store visits commonly begin between 5:00 and 8:00 a.m., and grand openings may require several consecutive days at one location. The schedule is generally available about one month in advance, and the technician organizes the most effective execution plan.
The typical workweek is approximately 40 hours, Monday through Friday. Overtime is not typical. This is a non-exempt position and is eligible for overtime in accordance with applicable California law.
Candidates should be based near Corona, Chino, Yorba Linda, Eastvale, Ontario, Anaheim, Fullerton, Riverside, or another community with practical access to the assigned territory.
What we are looking for
- At least two years of relevant grocery, commercial bakery, production decorating, or bakery-training experience

- Ability to train groups and explain techniques clearly and patiently
- Professional customer communication, sound judgment, and discretion
- Confidence supporting merchandising, product adoption, or consultative sales
- Strong organization, independence, flexibility, and follow-through
- Working proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, and reporting
- Valid driver's license and ability to safely operate a company vehicle
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to perform frequent fine-hand decorating and demonstration work, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Willingness to work in active bakery environments, including refrigerated or freezer areas when needed
Compensation, travel support, and training
The anticipated starting range is $25.00 to $28.00 per hour, depending on directly relevant production bakery, training, and customer-account experience.
Subject to eligibility and the client's plan terms, the client-provided package includes:
- Company vehicle for assigned field travel
- Company card for business fuel
- Approved business-travel expenses, including lodging, meals, tolls, and parking, paid or reimbursed according to company policy
- Company-paid short-term disability, long-term disability, and life insurance
