About the Position
We are seeking compassionate, dependable, and caring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our group home team. DSPs provide hands-on support to individuals with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities, helping them live as independently and safely as possible while participating in their home and community.
Responsibilities
- Provide respectful, person-centered care and daily living assistance.
- Support individuals with personal care, hygiene, dressing, meals, and household activities as needed.
- Assist residents with appointments, errands, recreational activities, and community outings.
- Encourage independence, choice, dignity, and social participation.
- Administer or assist with medications according to company policies and applicable regulations.
- Monitor and document residents' activities, behaviors, progress, and incidents accurately.
- Follow individual support plans and safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming home environment.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, families, and other members of the individual's support team.
- Respond appropriately to behavioral or medical situations and follow emergency procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED Required
- Previous experience in a group home, healthcare, behavioral health, or direct-care setting is a plus.
- Compassion, patience, reliability, and a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
- Ability to complete required training and meet applicable background-check requirements.
- Valid driver's license Required
- Driver’s Abstract reflecting in “good standing”
