Position Summary
American Majority Action seeks a motivated and organized Field Director to support grassroots voter contact efforts throughout Wisconsin's 3rd Congressional District. The Field Director will play a key role in executing direct voter outreach activities, coordinating canvassing operations, distributing campaign literature, and providing technical and logistical support to volunteer and paid canvassers.
The ideal candidate is energetic, self-motivated, comfortable engaging voters face-to-face, and capable of managing multiple field activities simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
Field Operations
- Conduct door-to-door voter outreach and canvassing activities throughout the district.
- Recruit, train, and support volunteer and paid canvassers.
- Ensure voter contact goals and performance metrics are achieved.
- Assist with voter identification, persuasion, and turnout efforts.
Literature Distribution
- Coordinate the distribution of campaign and educational literature throughout assigned areas.
- Manage inventory and delivery of printed materials to canvassers and volunteers.
- Track literature distribution efforts and report progress to campaign leadership.
Technical Support & Data Management
- Provide basic technical assistance to canvassers using voter contact applications and mobile devices.
- Troubleshoot field technology issues and coordinate with campaign leadership as needed.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of voter contact data.
- Monitor data quality and assist with data entry when necessary.
Reporting & Communication
- Maintain regular communication with regional and state leadership.
- Submit activity reports, canvassing results, and operational updates.
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Comfortable speaking with voters and community members from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Familiarity with grassroots organizing, political campaigns, or community engagement is preferred.
- Basic proficiency with smartphones, mobile applications, and digital reporting tools.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel throughout Wisconsin's 3rd Congressional District.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in political campaigns, advocacy organizations, or grassroots field operations.
- Experience managing volunteers or canvassing teams.
- Familiarity with voter contact databases and canvassing software.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk for extended periods while canvassing.
- Ability to carry campaign materials and literature.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Compensation & Schedule
- Part-time position working up to 28 hours per week.
- $30 per hour.
- Flexible schedule with evening and weekend availability required during peak outreach periods. Suggested field work should be conducted Monday-Friday from 12:00PM-Sundown, Saturday from 9:00AM-Sundown and Sunday from 12:00PM-6:00PM.
