About the Role:
The Senior Human Resources Generalist plays a pivotal role in managing and enhancing the employee lifecycle within the organization, ensuring alignment with company policies and strategic goals. This position is responsible for delivering comprehensive HR support across multiple functions including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compliance with labor laws. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying and resolving workplace issues, fostering a positive and productive work environment. The Senior HR Generalist collaborates closely with leadership and employees to implement HR initiatives that drive organizational effectiveness and employee engagement. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to building a resilient workforce that supports the company’s long-term success in the United States market.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serves as a Human Resources resource for employees and managers regarding company policies, procedures, benefits, employee relations, and general HR matters.
- Supports managers with employee relations concerns, performance management, coaching, corrective action, attendance, and workplace conduct.
- Conducts employee-relations fact-finding, gathers documentation, participates in interviews, prepares summaries, and maintains appropriate records in partnership with the HR Director.
- Partners with the HR Director on complex or sensitive employee relations matters, investigations, organizational changes, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
- Administers employee leave processes, including FMLA and other applicable federal, state, and company-provided leaves.
- Coordinates leave documentation, eligibility notices, certifications, employee communications, tracking, and return-to-work requirements.
- Supports employee benefit administration and assists employees with enrollment, qualifying life events, eligibility questions, and benefit-related concerns.
- Supports full-cycle recruiting, including job postings, candidate sourcing, resume review, interviews, candidate communication, offer preparation, background screening, and pre-employment requirements.
- Coordinates new-hire onboarding to provide an organized, professional, and welcoming employee experience.
- Prepares and processes employee lifecycle changes, including new hires, promotions, transfers, compensation changes, status changes, and terminations.
- Maintains accurate employee records and ensures personnel documentation is complete, organized, and retained appropriately.
- Maintains employee information within the HRIS and assists with routine audits for accuracy and completeness.
- Supports performance-management processes, including performance reviews, corrective actions, performance improvement plans, and related documentation.
- Supports compliance with federal, state, and local employment requirements and researches HR questions as needed.
- Assists with unemployment claims, employment verifications, audits, and other employment-related requests.
- Supports the implementation and communication of Human Resources policies, procedures, programs, and initiatives.
- Assists with employee engagement, recognition, wellness, and company-sponsored events and initiatives.
- Identifies opportunities to improve HR processes, documentation, communication, and the overall employee experience.
- Maintains confidentiality and exercises appropriate judgment when handling sensitive employee and company information.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in a Generalist or similarly broad-based HR role.
- Experience supporting employee relations and performance-management matters.
- Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and Human Resources best practices.
- Experience supporting FMLA and other employee leave programs preferred.
- Experience with benefits administration, recruiting, onboarding, HRIS administration, and employee lifecycle transactions.
- Experience working within an HRIS/payroll system required; ADP experience preferred.
- Experience supporting employees across multiple states or locations is a plus.
