American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) role requiring telemetry experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

Progressive Care Unit (PCU) hospital setting with rotating Day/Night 3x12 hour shifts (7:00-19:00 or 19:30-7:30)
-
36 hours per week with rotating schedule based on organizational needs; may be scheduled primarily on days or nights with flexibility to switch as needed

Every other weekend required (Friday & Saturday nights)

Floating required within OSU health system
-
Epic charting system preferred
-
Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration

Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
-
Minimum 1 year of RN experience required

Previous telemetry experience required
-
Experience with IV insulin protocols and insulin drips
-
Strong cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management skills
-
Experience with peripheral IV therapy, phlebotomy, and line care/management
-
Experience with oxygen administration and nasal cannula
-
Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program

2 professional references required; at least 1 from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role, second may be a Charge RN; no coworker references accepted

Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams

Isolation precautions and PPE protocols followed on the unit

First-time travelers will be considered, though candidates with only 1 year of experience require manager review prior to offer

Locals are accepted at the same rate

Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once away from the facility for 6 months or more

Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location

Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
-
Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing the contract due to strict credentialing timelines
