Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care in our outpatient office-based surgical practice. You will be performing dressing changes and removing surgical drains, and should be comfortable with hands-on care and interacting with patients regularly. Must be LGBT friendly and UBER professional, as well as good with fine motor tasks.
Duties
- Assist physicians and other healthcare professionals with patient care, obtaining vital signs, performing dressing changes and removing sutures and drains
- Organize intake paperwork for the upcoming office day. Follow up with patients who are missing paperwork, insurance cards or ID cards. Pre-scribe daily notes.
- Assist with ordering labs or imaging studies
- Provide patient education on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.
- Maintain a clean and organized medical environment.
- Follow up with primary care doctor's offices and patients regarding preoperative clearance paperwork and other preop requirements
- Assist with office tasks like answering phones and booking new patient appointments
Qualifications
- Completion of a medical assisting program or equivalent experience.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Experience in a surgical setting is highly desirable.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
