Job Summary
Join our growing team as a Construction Material Driver and play a key role in keeping our construction projects on schedule. In this hands-on position, you will be responsible for picking up framing lumber, drywall, and related materials from suppliers and delivering them safely and efficiently to residential and commercial job sites. This role requires a motivated professional who prioritizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork. You will load, transport, and unload materials while ensuring they are properly secured and delivered in excellent condition to support our framing and drywall crews.
Duties
- Safely operate company trucks to transport framing lumber, drywall sheets, metal studs, insulation, and other building materials to job sites.
- Load materials onto trucks at supplier locations, ensuring proper weight distribution and secure tie-down.
- Unload and stage materials at job sites in coordination with site supervisors and crew members.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
- Verify orders for accuracy when picking up materials and confirm deliveries match purchase orders.
- Plan efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries to multiple job sites when required.
- Maintain delivery logs, receipts, and necessary documentation for tracking and compliance.
- Follow all safety regulations, including proper lifting techniques and load securement standards.
- Communicate clearly with project managers, suppliers, and team members to ensure smooth delivery operations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably in construction, or with framing, or drywall materials.
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to load and unload heavy materials, including lifting and carrying drywall sheets and lumber
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate material counts and proper documentation.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain a strong safety mindset.
- Physically capable of handling repetitive lifting and working in various weather conditions.
Pay: $22.50 - $23.75 per hour
