As a Metal Apprentice for Sign Designs, Inc., your main responsibility is to assist in the manufacturing of electrical signs. You will work under the guidance and supervision of experienced Metal Fabricators to develop your skills and knowledge in metalworking and electrical sign manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the fabrication of metal components for electrical signs using tools and equipment such as shears, press brakes, welders, and grinders.
- Operate machinery to cut, shape, and form metal materials according to specifications.
- Assist in the assembly and wiring of electrical sign components, including transformers, LED lights, and power supplies.
- Participate in the layout and design of signs, ensuring accurate dimensions and placement of components.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure the proper installation of signs at customer sites.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical sign systems.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Assist in the packaging and shipping of completed sign orders.
- Attend training sessions and workshops to further develop your skills and stay updated on industry trends and techniques.
Qualifications:
· Common sense and critical thinking. Must be proficient at reading, math, written and verbal communication.
· Must be able to perform without direction.
· Must be trained on small tools, forklift certified, and able to drive all Class C vehicles.
· Must be able to read and understand work orders.
· Ability to remain organized, efficient, creative and capable of implementing multiple tasks. prepare clear and concise reports, work effectively with the Sales Staff, Installation Staff and Production Staff.
· Must maintain current drivers license and clean DMV record.
· Must be able to learn and constantly utilize all safety measures and PPE.
Welding experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
· Must be capable of fine hand/eye coordination as necessary with production type work. Must be capable of sitting, standing, lifting up to 50 lbs.
· Must be capable of sitting, standing or walking for long periods of time.
· Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
