Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Air Conditioning Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC systems, refrigeration, and mechanical maintenance, with experience in construction, service technician roles, and property maintenance. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, including HVAC design, equipment repair, and field service tasks. A valid <PERSON> driver’s license is required. The role involves diagnosing and repairing air conditioning systems, refrigeration units, and related mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair air conditioning systems, refrigeration units, and HVAC equipment in residential, commercial, and industrial settings
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design documents for accurate installation and maintenance
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems, boilers, refrigeration units, and other mechanical equipment
- Conduct electrical testing using tools such as ohmmeters to diagnose system issues
- Repair plumbing components related to HVAC systems and refrigeration units as needed
- Utilize welding skills for equipment repairs or modifications when necessary
- Maintain detailed service records and document work performed for each project
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes during all installations and repairs
- Assist with property maintenance tasks related to HVAC systems or mechanical infrastructure
Requirements
- Proven experience as an HVAC technician or service technician with knowledge of HVAC/R systems
- Strong mechanical knowledge including refrigeration, ammonia refrigeration, boiler operation, and appliance repair
- Ability to read schematics and understand HVAC design principles
- Experience with equipment repair, welding, plumbing, and electrical troubleshooting
- Familiarity with field service operations in construction or property maintenance environments
- Mechanical skills including the use of tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic equipment
- Construction experience is a plus; certification in HVAC or Refrigeration is preferred
- Valid <PERSON> driver’s license required for travel between job sites
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various settings requiring physical activity such as lifting or working at heights
