Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable Clerk to join our dynamic finance team. Duties
- Process and monitor accounts receivable transactions, including invoicing, collections, and customer account management.
- Handle accounts payable functions by verifying, coding, and entering vendor invoices.
- Perform account reconciliations for general ledger accounts, ensuring all debits and credits are accurately recorded in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
- Assist with month-end closing activities by preparing journal entries and supporting documentation for audit readiness.
- Support governmental accounting requirements and non-profit accounting procedures as needed, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, or general ledger accounting within a corporate or governmental setting.
- Strong knowledge of financial concepts, including debits & credits, journal entries, double-entry bookkeeping, and account reconciliation.
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy; proficiency in 10 key typing is preferred.
- Solid understanding of GAAP standards.
- Ability to analyze financial data critically while maintaining confidentiality and demonstrating strong organizational skills.
