NetApp is hiring a Strategic District Manager to lead our Financial Services go-to-market for a portfolio of the most data-intensive, complex customers in the industry. This is a senior sales leadership role for someone who can build a high-performance team, navigate matrixed enterprises, and engage credibly with C-level executives on cloud, data, cyber resilience, and modernization outcomes.
You’ll lead a team of Client Executives, own district performance, and shape account strategies that expand NetApp’s footprint across top-tier Financial Services organizations (banking, capital markets, insurance, payments, and fintech).
Location: Tri-State Area (New York, New Jersey, Connecticut)
New York Office requirements: expectations of this role is to be onsite 3 days a week.

Lead and develop a top-performing team

Hire, coach, and inspire Client Executives to exceed revenue goals and deepen strategic customer relationships

Drive a culture of accountability, rigor, and continuous improvement across the district

Provide hands-on deal leadership for complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise sales cycles
Own district strategy and execution

Build and execute territory and account plans aligned to corporate priorities and Financial Services market dynamics

Identify whitespace, expansion paths, and multi-year transformation opportunities within strategic accounts

Ensure strong pipeline creation, qualification, and progression with disciplined operating cadence
Be a trusted executive partner to customers

Build influential relationships with C-suite, CIO/CTO organizations, infrastructure leaders, and security/data stakeholders

Guide customers through modernization journeys involving hybrid cloud, data infrastructure, governance, and operational resilience

Translate technical capabilities into business outcomes that matter to Financial Services leaders
Orchestrate cross-functional teams to win

Align internal teams (Solutions, Product, Engineering, Marketing, Partners, Customer Success) to deliver differentiated outcomes

Leverage partner ecosystems (GSIs, cloud providers, and strategic channel partners) to scale impact

Champion customer feedback internally to drive innovation and improve time-to-value
Run the business with operational excellence

Maintain forecast accuracy, pipeline hygiene, and clear executive reporting

Use data-driven insights to diagnose performance, remove obstacles, and optimize execution

Track Financial Services trends: regulatory pressure, risk management, AI/data initiatives, cyber resilience, cost optimization, and cloud operating models

Understand competitive dynamics to position NetApp effectively and protect/expand wallet share

8+ years of enterprise sales leadership experience (cloud, data infrastructure, storage, cybersecurity, or enterprise software preferred)

Proven success leading high-performing teams selling into strategic/large enterprise accounts with long, complex sales cycles

Strong understanding of Financial Services business drivers and technology priorities (resilience, governance, risk, modernization, data/AI)

Demonstrated ability to build executive relationships and influence decisions at the highest levels

Excellent business acumen with a metrics-driven approach to forecasting, pipeline management, and execution

Comfort operating in a matrixed environment with multiple internal and external stakeholders

Location: New York, NY (district leadership role supporting strategic Financial Services customers)
The target salary range for this position is 325,550 - 421,300 USD. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. The range is based on 'On Target Earnings’ (OTE) representing the total potential earnings, which is the sum of the base salary and potential commission earned when performance targets are achieved. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO), various Leave options, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU’s). These offerings are subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies.
