Highland Forest Daycare & Early Learning Center is looking for a dependable, organized, and safety-focused Transportation Coordinator & Bus Driver to oversee the day-to-day transportation operations of our early learning center.
This is more than a bus driving position.
The person in this role will take ownership of our transportation program, including daily driving, route coordination, bus maintenance, safety inspections, transportation records, and communication with administration.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in keeping things organized, enjoys working independently, and understands the importance of providing safe, reliable transportation for young children.
What You'll Do:
Transportation & Driving
- Safely transport children to and from school, field trips, and other approved activities
- Follow established transportation routes and schedules
- Assist with adjusting routes and transportation schedules as enrollment and transportation needs change
- Maintain a calm, professional, and positive environment while transporting children
- Follow all Highland Forest transportation and child safety procedures
Transportation Coordination
- Serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day transportation operations
- Coordinate daily bus routes and transportation schedules with administration
- Maintain accurate transportation and passenger records
- Communicate schedule changes, transportation concerns, and operational needs to administration
- Help establish and maintain consistent transportation procedures
Bus Maintenance & Safety
- Complete required daily vehicle inspections and safety checks
- Monitor the condition of the bus and promptly report maintenance or safety concerns
- Coordinate routine maintenance, inspections, servicing, and repairs
- Keep the bus clean, organized, and in safe operating condition
- Maintain transportation supplies and notify administration when items need to be replaced or replenished
Professional Responsibilities
- Represent Highland Forest professionally when interacting with children, families, staff, schools, and the community
- Maintain confidentiality regarding children and families
- Follow Texas child-care transportation requirements and Highland Forest policies
- Work cooperatively with administration and classroom staff
- Take initiative and communicate problems before they become larger issues

Candidates must meet all applicable requirements to transport children in a licensed Texas child-care setting, including required driving credentials and background screening.
