Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in assisting with activities of daily living, patient care, and developing personalized care plans. As a COTA, you will work closely with occupational therapists to support patients' rehabilitation goals across inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments. Your expertise in physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology will be essential in delivering effective therapy services.
Job Status: Part-Time (20-30 hrs/week)
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, and mobility to enhance independence and quality of life.
- Implement individualized care plans designed by occupational therapists, ensuring adherence to treatment objectives.
- Support therapy sessions in various settings including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health visits.
- Monitor patient progress and document responses to therapy interventions accurately and comprehensively.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and optimize recovery outcomes.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment during therapy sessions while following all safety protocols and regulations.
- Utilize knowledge of medical imaging, physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to inform treatment strategies effectively.
Experience
- Prior experience working in inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation settings is highly preferred.
- Skilled nursing facility experience or home health experience is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to assist with ADLs and develop care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Familiarity with geriatrics, pediatrics, and occupational health environments enhances the ability to serve diverse patient populations.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and medical imaging supports effective patient care delivery.
- Proven track record of providing compassionate patient care within acute care or clinic settings is desirable.
