American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Orthopedic Surgery position in Alamogordo, NM, requiring at least 1 year of recent ortho experience and an active NM or compact RN license.

Specialty Orthopedic Surgery unit within a hospital setting

Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

13-week contract

Active RN license in NM or via compact licensure required

Current BLS certification (American Heart Association only)

Minimum 1 year of recent orthopedic nursing experience required

BSN preferred

US Social Security Number required for consideration

2 professional references required for consideration

Active, non-expired copies of all certifications required for consideration

Provides routine and complex nursing care utilizing the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation

Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families

Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness

Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided

Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers

Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed
