Job Overview: Maintenance Technician A
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic facilities management team. Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment, electrical systems, and building infrastructure to minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters.
- Operate programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation systems to ensure seamless production processes.
- Conduct welding repairs and fabrications as needed to support equipment or structural modifications.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for tracking work orders and asset history.
- Assist with residential painting projects and other facilities maintenance tasks to uphold safety standards and aesthetic quality.
- Supervise junior technicians or contractors during complex repairs or projects, providing guidance and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Interpret schematics and technical diagrams to diagnose issues efficiently and implement effective solutions.
- Support manufacturing operations by ensuring all machinery operates reliably while adhering to safety regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve maintenance procedures, reduce costs, and enhance overall facility performance.
Experience
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance within manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Strong electrical experience including wiring, circuit troubleshooting, and understanding of electrical codes.
- Mechanical knowledge encompassing motors, pumps, conveyors, and mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in automation processes.
- Skilled in welding techniques for repair or fabrication tasks.
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals accurately.
- Experience with CMMS software for managing work orders and maintenance records.
- Supervisory or leadership experience overseeing maintenance teams or projects.
- Knowledge of residential painting techniques is a plus but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication skills in English for effective teamwork and customer service interactions.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters effectively.
