We are a premier, multi-use, high-energy LGBTQ+ nightlife, multi use venue featuring drag showcases, dancers, karaoke, and themed events. We are looking for an entrepreneurial Bar & Venue Manager who treats the business like their own, driving top-line sales while keeping costs tightly managed.
The Bar & Venue Manager will oversee all beverage operations, event execution, floor management, and staff development. The ideal candidate balances meticulous organizational skills (for daytime corporate clients) with the high-octane energy and speed needed to maximize revenue during packed nightlife events. You will step into a 90-Day Plan with defined metrics from day one, directly incentivized through a quarterly performance bonus, starting with the plan's Day 90 net margin, revenue, cost, inventory, and event targets as your first quarter's goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Revenue Generation & Event Execution
- Nightlife Optimization: Maximize bar speed, floor service efficiency, and bottle/shot features during high-volume evening events (drag shows, dancers, themed nights).
- Daytime Turnover: Coordinate seamless transitions between daytime private rentals/corporate bookings and nighttime public shifts, ensuring the space is pristine and perfectly reset.
- Menu Engineering: Collaboratively design and price high-margin cocktail menus that balance visual appeal, preparation speed, and target profitability.
- Staff Upselling: Implement ongoing training for bartenders and servers focused on premium spirit call-outs, suggestive selling, and volume building.
2. Financial & Cost Controls
- Pour Cost Management: Maintain an overall beverage Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) at or below the target threshold of 20%.
- Inventory Integrity: Conduct strict weekly and monthly inventory audits, keeping unexplained stock variance under 2%.
- Labor Optimization: Create strategic staff schedules that scale up labor for peak revenue hours and protect margins during lower-volume booking windows.
3. Culture, Compliance & Leadership
- Inclusive Environment: Foster a safe, vibrant, high-energy, and welcoming atmosphere for our diverse staff and LGBTQ+ community clientele.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and hold floor staff accountable to service standards, portion controls, and safety protocols.
- Compliance: Maintain flawless operational compliance with all TABC regulations, local health codes, and security guidelines.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 3+ years of management experience in a high-volume nightlife lounge, high-energy entertainment venue, or hybrid event space.
- LGBTQ+ Nightlife Familiarity: Deep understanding of or direct experience working within LGBTQ+ nightlife programming (managing talent, hosting large crowds, driving entertainment-led bar environments).
- Financial Acumen: Strong command of bar metrics — specifically pour costs, labor cost percentages, POS sales-mix data, and inventory auditing.
- Logistical Skills: Ability to coordinate private events, manage vendor loads, and oversee venue maintenance.
- Certifications: Active TABC and Food Manager certifications required.
Benefits & Compensation
- Competitive pay based on experience and peformance.
- Quarterly Performance Bonus: Tied directly to net margin, revenue growth, pour cost, inventory variance, social growth, and new event launches. Q1 targets are set by the venue's 90-Day Plan; each subsequent quarter's targets are set based on the prior quarter's actuals (base target [Bonus Amount]/quarter, with an uncapped outperformance stretch multiplier).
Pay: From $40,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- Employee discount
- Flexible schedule
