BEPC is actively seeking a Tissue Specialist to join a leading medical device manufacturing team in Plymouth, MN. This position is ideal for individuals with excellent hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, and the ability to perform highly detailed work in a cleanroom environment. The successful candidate will assemble life-saving structural heart devices using precision sewing techniques under a microscope while following strict quality and manufacturing standards.
The Tissue Specialist (Structural Heart Device Assembler) is responsible for the precise assembly of sewn structural heart devices in a regulated cleanroom environment. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, the ability to sew using suture and needle under magnification, and the use of microscopes, small hand tools, and precision measuring equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble structural heart devices according to approved manufacturing procedures and work instructions.
- Perform precision sewing using suture and needle while working under a microscope.
- Utilize microscopes, small hand tools, calibrated instruments, measuring devices, and test fixtures.
- Perform highly detailed assembly work on small medical device components.
- Inspect materials and finished assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards and product specifications.
- Support design verification, testing, validation, and continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain accurate production documentation and follow established manufacturing procedures.
- Work collaboratively with production teams to achieve daily production goals.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant cleanroom work environment.
- Follow all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Ability to perform extremely detailed, precision-oriented work.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
- Ability to sew using suture and needle.
- Comfortable working under a microscope for extended periods.
- Ability to use small hand tools, measuring devices, and precision instruments.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous medical device assembly experience.
- Experience working in a cleanroom environment.
- Experience performing precision assembly under magnification.
- Experience using microscopes and precision measuring equipment.
- Background in sewing, jewelry making, electronics assembly, crafts, or other detail-oriented handwork.
