American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a travel assignment at a pediatric hospital in Ohio, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Level III/IV NICU experience and an active OH or Compact RN license.

Day shift position, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00)

Neonatal ICU (NICU) setting within a children's hospital
-
Cares for a BPD (bronchopulmonary dysplasia) NICU population, with an average patient length of stay of 2–3 years
-
Frequent trach care and heavy parent/family involvement expected
-
Float requirement to multiple units including PICU, CV PICU, stepdown, MS, and occasionally the ED (ED float is extremely rare)

May also float to other campuses, including OH Health Riverside, Mount Carmel St. Ann's, OH Health Grant Medical, OH Health Dublin Methodist, and OH Health Doctors Hospital

Active OH or Compact RN license required

Current BLS and NRP certifications required

Minimum 1 year of Level IV NICU experience required

Minimum 2 years of combined Level III/IV NICU experience required

Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager or supervisor (charge nurse references not accepted)

Candidates must not have worked permanently at this facility within the past 2 years

Provides specialized nursing care to neonatal patients, with a focus on BPD cases requiring trach care and extensive family engagement

Two-part interview process: an initial screening interview with the Float Pool Leader conducted within 24–48 hours of submission, followed by a secondary review or interview with the NICU unit manager

RTO requests are reviewed during the interview process

Floating to multiple units and campuses is a core expectation of this role — travelers must be prepared and willing to comply

Attendance is taken seriously; no call/no-shows may result in progressive disciplinary action up to termination
