Overview
Join our dynamic team at Embers Protection Services as a Journeyman Plumber and take on the lead role to construction projects that demand team leadership, precision, mechanical expertise, as well as hands-on skills. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team through installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing and fire protection piping systems for commercial and residential projects. Your expertise will help ensure that building systems operate efficiently, safely, and in accordance with blueprints and schematics and that jobs are completed on time and within proper guidelines. Responsibilities:
- Manage a team though installation, assembly, and maintenance of fire sprinkler and piping systems
- Train and mentor apprentice plumbers and helpers
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, fixtures, valves, piping, and related equipment
- Perform pressure testing, leak detection, and system inspections.
- Troubleshoot plumbing system issues and determine appropriate corrective actions
- Coordinate work with project managers, foremen, general contractors, inspectors, and other trades
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and plumbing equipment safely and effectively.
- Work in compliance with safety and cleanliness standards and job site requirements
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and project progress
Qualifications
- 4+ years of commercial or industrial plumbing/ pipefitting or fire protection experience (including at least 1 year as a lead)
- Current Journeyman Plumber license or certification as required by state or local regulations.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Proficient in plumbing installation, repair, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Knowledge of fire sprinkler systems and piping layouts
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
- Experience with grooved, threaded, and welded pipe systems
- Ability to lead a team to deliver on expectations
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in various job site conditions
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in fire protection systems (NFPA standards knowledge a plus)
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification
- Basic hand tools
- Experience operating construction equipment such as trenchers, lifts, or excavators.
