Summary:
Visit Tucson & Tucson Sports are seeking a high performing Sports Sales Manager to join our Tucson Sports operation. This individual will be responsible for the solicitation, account maintenance and conversion of Sports related business for Metro Tucson and Pima County. Establish and maintain productive relationships with primary & secondary sports venues within the region. Provide logistical support for Tucson Sports events as required/contracted. The goal of this position will be to sell our destination for tournaments, competitions and other sporting events to produce a positive economic impact for our community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Assist in managing key Tucson Sports accounts such as but not limited to: El Tour de Tucson, Cactus Club VB, Arizona Bowl & RSL/Ft Lowell Soccer Tournament. Annual events will be split between Senior Sales Manager and Sales Manager based on individual annual goals. Each staff member will be responsible for loading their leads, distributing the RFP, servicing the event once definite and turning the lead definite to include data collection and Economic Impact generation.
· Identify and work to secure new events within the amateur sports competition industry as well as working with current and future “professional” sports events that occur annually (Korean Spring Training, Mexican Baseball Fiesta, Tucson Invitational Games, etc.). Senior Sales Manager and Sales Manager will work closely to assign and share new leads developed or generated via tradeshow attendance, based on individual annual goals.
· Responsible for attendance and participation in sports related travel & tradeshows including registration, travel budget, booth expenses, partner participation, flights & hotel reservations.
· Understanding of and responsibility for management of Simpleview CRM Sports database, including producing reports, as requested regarding sports metrics. Visit Tucson will provide access to Simpleview CRM training if not already familiar with the platform.
· Serve as the main point of contact between clients & hotel partners/venue partners.
· Effectively plan & schedule site visits for both local and out of town clients
· Share responsibility with Senior Sales Manager for hosting client events/Sports FAMs, including booking & negotiating prices with vendors and partners.
· In collaboration with Senior Sales Manager, discuss and confirm contracts on behalf of Visit Tucson Sports regarding event sponsorship and/or financial commitments for Tucson Sports clients/partners.
· Manage Visit Tucson Sports social media platforms (Twitter & Instagram) and may be required to attend off-hours events for assets to post.
· Sports Sales Manager will report directly to the Director of Sales
· Any other duties/projects as designated by the CEO, VP of Sales, or Director of Sales

Education and/or Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from an accredited four-year college or university; and minimum of one to two years related hospitality industry sales/sports industry sales experience
· Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Qualifications:
- Must be able to travel and willing to work evenings, weekends or holidays.
- Must have reliable transportation, a valid Arizona driver’s license, valid auto insurance, and a good driving record.
- Must be willing and able to complete Sports ETA STS courses for STS certification within 1 year of hire date if not already certified. Visit Tucson will provide resources to complete these courses.
Compensation & Benefits:
- This is a full-time exempt position that will require some travel and work on nights and weekends. Scheduled hours may vary.
- Hybrid/Work from Home eligibility.
- Compensation is flexible and is commensurate with experience.
