American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night-shift Med/Surg (Ortho Trauma) position in Lewisville, TX, requiring at least 2 years of Med/Surg experience and a TX or compact RN license.

32-bed Ortho Trauma / Med/Surg unit located on the 4th floor of A Tower

Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
-
13-week contract

Patient ratio of 1:6
-
Unit staffed with RNs, LVNs, and PCTs; night shift includes 1 charge nurse, 4–5 nurses (RN/LVN mix), and 2–3 PCTs
-
Equipment used includes Baxter IV pumps and Welch Allyn vital signs machines
-
EMR: Meditech
-
May float to the Surgical Telemetry Unit or Inpatient Rehab
-
No on-call requirement

Active TX RN license or compact RN license currently in hand

Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)

Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required

US SSN and DOB required for consideration

One professional reference required

No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Typical procedures include patient ambulation and wound care as needed

A dedicated admission/discharge team assists with the admitting and discharging process for Med/Surg patients

Charge experience and preceptor experience are preferred

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be considered
