Guest Specialist
Riverwalk Place Resort & Spa — Gladwin, MI
Riverwalk Place Resort & Spa is looking for a warm, detail-oriented Guest Specialist to be the first face our guests see. If you love making people feel welcome, solving problems on the fly, and being the go-to person for a great stay, we'd love to meet you.
Pay: $14.00 - $18.00/hour+ based on experience
Job Summary
A Guest Specialist provides exceptional front-desk service, handling check-ins, check-outs, reservations, and guest requests with professionalism and warmth. They serve as the main point of contact for guests throughout their stay, coordinating with housekeeping and maintenance to ensure rooms are ready and issues are resolved quickly. Strong communication skills, composure under pressure, and a genuine desire to help are essential for this role.
Responsibilities
- Greet and check in/check out guests in a warm, professional manner.
- Answer phone calls and respond to guest inquiries via phone, email, and in person.
- Process reservations, payments, and cancellations accurately.
- Provide guests with information about resort amenities, local attractions, and dining options.
- Resolve guest concerns and complaints promptly, escalating when necessary.
- Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance to ensure rooms are guest-ready.
- Maintain accurate guest records and daily logs.
- Assist with special requests, packages, and event coordination.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional customer service abilities.
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable using reservation and point-of-sale systems.
- A great attitude and genuine desire to help people matter more to us than years of experience. Hospitality or front-desk experience is a plus, but not required.
Additional Requirements
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to work well in a team and independently.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Positive attitude and a passion for hospitality and guest satisfaction.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
Education/Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Customer service experience preferred; hotel or front-desk experience is a bonus, but we're happy to train the right person.
