About ATLAW
ATLAW Group is a growing personal injury law firm in Dearborn serving Metro Detroit and communities across Michigan. We manage a high-volume pre-litigation and litigation practice, roughly 500 active cases and growing, built on a simple core value: unreasonable hospitality for every client. We have invested heavily in modern operations, documented workflows, structured case tracking, and AI-supported systems, and we are hiring the leader who will make that machine run every single day.
The Role
This is the accountability seat. The firm's founder and CEO drives vision, legal strategy, and growth. You own operational execution: making sure the documented processes are actually followed, files move on schedule, handoffs happen, and the team performs against clear standards. You are the layer between leadership and the day-to-day, so the CEO is pulled into legal judgment and strategic decisions only, not routine execution.
This role carries a written promotion path to Chief Operating Officer, anchored to defined performance benchmarks you will help set in your first 90 days.
What You Will Own
- Execution rhythm. Run the operational cadence of the firm: structured accountability meetings with case teams, blocked-file reviews, and a weekly executive scorecard.
- Process adherence. Enforce documented SOPs and checklists across intake, pre-litigation, and case progression. Where the process and reality diverge, you close the gap.
- KPI ownership. Own the firm's core operational metrics, including new-file startup standards, demand and payment-request throughput, case aging, and team output, reported weekly.
- Escalation discipline. Manage clear escalation paths so issues route to the right person at the right level, protecting attorney and executive time.
- Training and knowledge base. Build and maintain the operational knowledge base, onboarding paths, and training structure for staff and virtual team members.
- Systems and vendors. Coordinate operational vendors and internal tooling, including case tracking, reporting dashboards, and workflow automation platforms.
- Growth support. Partner with the CEO and outside advisors on capacity planning, hiring, and the operational side of firm growth initiatives.
What You Bring
- Seven or more years of operations leadership experience with direct accountability for team performance and measurable results.
- A systems mindset: you build with SOPs, checklists, scorecards, and cadence, and you hold people to them with respect and consistency.
- Comfort being the enforcement layer. You can have direct conversations, hold standards without drama, and keep trust while doing it.
- Fluency with modern operational tooling such as project or case tracking platforms, CRMs, and reporting dashboards. Experience with Smartsheet, GoHighLevel, or Power BI is a plus.
- Law firm, insurance, healthcare, or other regulated high-volume workflow experience is a plus but not required. We will teach the legal context; we will not teach accountability.
- On-site presence in Dearborn. This role leads people in person.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary range: $150,000 to $190,000, depending on experience.
- Quarterly performance bonus program tied to operational KPIs you help define, with meaningful upside above base.
- Long-term incentive eligibility following an initial performance period.
- Health insurance, 401(k) with company match, and generous paid time off.
- A written, benchmark-based path to the Chief Operating Officer seat.
How We Hire
Our process is designed to be fast and honest: an initial conversation, a role-fit assessment, a working session with leadership on a real operational scenario, and reference checks. We move quickly for the right person.
