Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of dental procedures including examinations, cleanings, fillings, extractions, root canal therapy, prosthodontics, and endodontics
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, diagnose dental conditions, and develop personalized treatment plans in accordance with healthcare diagnosis standards
- Utilize dental terminology accurately to communicate treatment options and procedures clearly to patients
- Maintain detailed and accurate medical documentation and dental records in compliance with HIPAA and state healthcare regulations
- Apply aseptic techniques and infection control protocols diligently to ensure patient safety and prevent cross-contamination
- Operate dental imaging equipment effectively for diagnostic purposes while adhering to radiation safety guidelines
- Collaborate with team members using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort
- Stay current with advancements in dental technology and procedures, including proficiency in electronic health record systems such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of general dentistry practices combined with specialized skills in pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, prosthodontics, endodontics, and anesthesiology
- Proficiency in using dental software platforms like Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and treatment planning
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical imaging techniques
- Ability to perform dental extractions, root canal therapy, dental fabrication, and other complex procedures confidently
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs compassionately and communicate effectively
- Knowledge of infection control standards and aseptic techniques aligned with OSHA guidelines
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and the importance of maintaining confidentiality of medical records
- Experience working within a busy dental office environment or clinic setting that emphasizes teamwork and high-quality patient service
