Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate a variety of resident-centered activities, including recreational therapy sessions, social events, and special programs tailored to residents’ interests and abilities
- Assist with organizing resident outings and events that promote community engagement and enrich daily living experiences
- Build strong rapport with residents by understanding their preferences, needs, and individual histories to personalize activities effectively
- Support residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed, including mobility assistance and participation encouragement
- Manage activity schedules efficiently to ensure timely execution of programs while maintaining flexibility for spontaneous engagement opportunities
- Collaborate with team members to develop innovative programs that address memory care, dementia support, and aging issues counseling
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback to continually improve activity offerings
Experience
- Prior experience in event planning or recreational therapy within assisted living, nursing homes, or senior care environments is highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, geriatrics, and memory care best practices
- Experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities in long-term care or home & community care settings
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office for documentation and scheduling purposes
- Proven ability to develop engaging programs that foster resident rapport building and social interaction
- Familiarity with coordinating resident events and managing schedules in a senior living facility environment

Pay: $16.50 - $18.00 per hour
