Position Overview:
We are seeking a part-time Medical Assistant who can cross train as an Administrative Assistant (or vice-versa) to join our Glen Mills team. You’ll play a key role in both the front and back office — from managing patient communication and scheduling to assisting with clinical procedures.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments (TRT evaluations, ED consults, follow-up lab work, etc.) via phone and text.
- Field patient questions, handle orders, and update memberships through text or phone communication.
- Reach out to current and past patients with updates, new services, and promotions.
- Serve as the liaison between front desk and clinical staff to ensure seamless coordination.
- Maintain professionalism and create a warm, welcoming environment for all patients.
Medical Assistant Responsibilities:
- Perform phlebotomy (blood draws) and administer injections (testosterone, B12, Gonadorelin, and other vitamins).
- Check and record patient vitals in the EMR system.
- Ensure all lab results are accurately entered into patient charts.
- Assist medical providers with patient care and lab operations.
- Maintain accurate records in EMR while adhering to all HIPAA protocols.
- Greet and prepare patients for treatments or consultations.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills — connecting with patients is extremely important.
- Excellent multitasking and organizational abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive, team-oriented, and personable attitude.
- Proficient in medical terminology, documentation, and patient care procedures.
- Familiarity with Google Sheets & Docs, Instagram, and Facebook preferred.
- Experience in a clinical or healthcare setting: Urology, Botox, Chiropractic, and experience giving IV's is highly preferred.
- Ability to administer injections safely and accurately.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Requirements
- Phlebotomy experience, drawing medications and administering shots.
- Ability to take and record vitals.
- Familiarity with ordering labs.
- Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment; clinic or dental office experience preferred.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA compliance.
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and health information management software.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and data entry tasks.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to support diverse patient populations.
- Strong communication skills with professional phone etiquette and customer service orientation.
- Office management or administrative experience in a healthcare setting is highly desirable.
