Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of diesel-powered equipment and vehicles, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, and other heavy-duty components using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications.
- Conduct preventive maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, air brake inspections and fluid replacements to maximize equipment lifespan.
- Fabricate and modify parts or components using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific operational needs.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems including automotive diagnostics, wiring schematics, sensors, and control modules to identify issues accurately.
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and farm machinery safely and efficiently during repair or testing procedures.
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to interpret complex mechanical or electrical diagrams for precise repairs.
- Assist with assembly or reassembly of machinery after repairs or upgrades while adhering to safety standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair findings clearly and offering maintenance advice to clients or team members.
Requirements
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in diesel engine repair and heavy equipment maintenance.
- Experience with familiarity with OEM parts and diagnostic tools.
- Knowledge of fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; experience working with power tools is essential.
- Familiarity with excavator, crane, forklift, tractor-trailer, HVAC systems, and industrial machinery is advantageous.
- Ability to understand and read technical manuals, and wiring diagrams accurately.
- Mechanical knowledge of transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, and alignment procedures.
- Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics software and electrical troubleshooting methods.
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and working in various environmental conditions; commitment to safety protocols at all times.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with customer service orientation to ensure timely repairs and satisfied clients. Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
