St. George Steel LLC is seeking an experienced Industrial Forklift Operator

Basic Job Description:
- Must demonstrate good work ethics i.e., the ability to work safely and be to work each day on time
- Conserve resources whenever possible to ensure budgetary integrity
- Operate a 36,000 lb capacity forklift
- Offload raw steel in various shapes and sizes and transport to storage
- Record material sizes and heat numbers onto the raw materials offloaded
- Transport large and often heavy equipment to various locations in the yard or shops
- Load large and often heavy products onto flatbed trucks for shipping
- Must be physically able to step onto and off a large forklift many times each day
- Must be physically able to stage dunnage in the yard and on a flatbed truck etc.
- Other duties may be assigned that may specifically impact business and/or organizational needs
Experience and Skills:
- Health & Safety awareness
- Valid driver's license
- High School Diploma/GED preferred
- Shipping/Receiving Experience Required
- Proven 2+ years of experience operating large forklifts
- Responsive to occasional disruption, change, and schedule pressure
- A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach
- Responsible and trustworthy with great attention
- Must be flexible and able to work under your own initiative
- Willing to work overtime hours when required
Physical Requirements:
This role is located within a steel fabrication plant and is constantly on the manufacturing floor. This role will interact with fabricators, quality, painting, and crane operators. Lifting up to 50 lbs. may be required at times. The ability to work standing up or sitting down for long periods of time is required. The ability to move and climb ladders is required. All elements of a steel fabrication plant should be expected at various manufacturing levels.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
